Enjoy Great City Living in Rochester NY

Despite what you may have heard, Rochester is a great place to live, work, and play! Now you know you want to live here, but which are the best Rochester NY neighborhoods? Wonderful question. All Rochester NY neighborhoods have their own unique characteristics, places to go, and crowds they are most popular with. Those who wish to move here will have to take all of these factors into account when deciding which neighborhood is best for them. Here are some local favorites that are hot renting spots in Rochester NY: Park Ave, NOTA, South Wedge, Corn Hill, and the St. Paul Quarter.

For college students and young professionals, Park Ave is a favorite. Apartments are still reasonable, running at around $500 to $650 a month for a nice one bedroom, and there are studios for even less. Residents enjoy visiting shops, local coffee houses, and the beautiful, scenic streets. Still, stay open to some other great locations that are less hyped, such as NOTA, or the Neighborhood of the Arts. Located around the George Eastman House and Memorial Art Gallery, this neighborhood features the ARTWalk, plus many great, inexpensive places to rent. Live closer to downtown for around the same price, maybe lower, as Park Ave. A previously blue collar neighborhood, South Wedge has become another student favorite as of late. South Wedge rents are very reasonable, with studios at $400 and single bedrooms at $500. Great places in the area include Lux Lounge, Godiva's, India House, and Highland Park.

Looking for something a little less geared towards the college crowd? Corn Hill is a great neighborhood for young professionals and families alike. It is its own village oasis right by downtown. Luxury town houses offer a different kind of rental option, though cheaper studios and the like can also be rented there. The Corn Hill Arts Festival is held there each year, a favorite of Rochester NY locals and visitors alike. If you are looking for real downtown living, there is nothing like the St. Paul Quarter. There, you can even find a great loft apartment, with trendy bars and restaurants all close by. Live it up in style with exposed brick walls and studio style spaces, and spend your nights partying. Whichever neighborhood you choose, you will love it here in Rochester NY!
